An Invitation from the Owners
Mark & Clare Pecce
2008 proved to be another season full of fun-filled events for all ages. Kicking off the season was a complementary camp breakfast. Special weekends included the Kentucky Derby, Mother’s and Father’s Day and Mardi Gras.
Holiday weekends brought back the 50’s in the form of dances, D.J.’ed by Donny Doo Wop, poodle skirts, leather jackets, Mark’s home-made fries and topped off with live broadcasts by Cool 101.7 radio station and lots of good ol’ Rock ‘n Roll!
Family and friends celebrated Christmas in July with a pot luck dinner put together by the campers and topped off with a visit from Santa Claus (who spends his summers at Shangri-la)! Golf cart parades, movies, karaoke, poker runs, fishing, bingo, Texas Hold ‘Em Poker, swimming and volleyball were enjoyed by all.
Grass skirts and leis were in abundance at the Luau dinner and dance-mix by D.J. Clare, as were ghosts, goblins and the like at the Halloween dinner and dance. The Haunted Hay Ride was also a big success and promises to be even bigger and better this coming Halloween. The “Pirates of Shangri-La” (and wenches) came in full attire to ride the Pirate Ship in the Jamestown Community Day Parade and a good time was had by all!
New for 2009 will be the welcomed addition of Bob Crowe, who will make mouth watering magic in the kitchen, which will include an “all you can eat” Italian Night Pasta Dinner. Monthly birthday celebrations, a campground yard sale, a Western weekend and a campground cook-off are some of the new upcoming events.
So come and enjoy your “home away from home”, with good food, good fun, good times and best of all good friends at Shangri-La by the Lake Campground.!!!
